Description

Our battery eliminator circuits (BEC’s) are designed around ultra-reliable DC-DC convertors, we could not find anything on the market that met up to requirements so we decided to design our own, our power products have been extensively tested to the highest standards as well as being proven on the bench we use real flights in real aircraft to prove reliability. We do not use LDO regulators in our designs that means that we can maintain high currents with little effect on voltage output (see chart below), during the design phase we were very of the issue of heat management this was the main driver towards component selection, typically our 5v 3A BEC’s will operate at 50°C at full load passively cooled with no airflow the chart below are the results under stress test with a pure DC Load

Test Conditions:

Constant DC Load

Fully charged 12s 22000mAh batteries

We performed an endurance test with the unit constantly powered over 14 Days at full load with passive cooling there was no change in performance during this period

*We test using a pure DC Load which is a worst case scenario in normal use this type of load would rarely occur

**Case temperature can be dramatically decreased with a simple heatsink or moderate airflow, using a 25 x 25 x 10mm heatsink the temperature was stable at 56°C
